Maximize vertical space in Toad Data Point

But things like toolbars, icons, and grouping panels (while helpful!) can sometimes hog more room than they deserve. This can be frustrating when:

• You’re working on a laptop or a smaller monitor
• You need to see more rows or detailed results
• You just want a cleaner, distraction-free workspace

Good news: With a few small tweaks, you can make your Toad Data Point feel lighter, cleaner, and way more user-friendly.

Tidy up the Main window

Let’s start with the top of Toad Data Point – the toolbar.

Use smaller icons

Want to keep all the functionality but free up some space? Just shrink those icons!

Here’s how:

1. Right-click anywhere on the toolbar
2. Uncheck “Use Large Icons”

Voilà! Your toolbar just got slimmer and more efficient.

Hide the toolbar altogether

Feeling bold? If you rarely use the toolbar, even with the smaller icons, you can hide it entirely for a super clean look.

To do that:

1. Right-click again on the toolbar
2. Uncheck the section you want to hide
   • Unchecking the File/Edit/View option will hide the top toolbar options
   • Unchecking the Status Bar option will hide the status bar at the bottom of the screen

And don’t worry – you can bring it back anytime by right-clicking again

Clear up the Results area

Now let’s move down to the results section — specifically, the Group By Box. It’s handy when you need to organize data, but if you’re not using it, it’s just taking up space.

Hide the Group By Box

1. Right-click on the Group By Box, or on a column header in the grid
2. Select “Hide Group By Box”

Boom! More room for rows, less clutter.

Want it back later? Just right-click again and choose “Show Group By Box”. Easy.
